Globe Privacy Policy
Globe - Your 3D Homepage, Chrome extension. Last updated 7 November 2026.
Globe replaces your new tab page with a 3D globe of your favourite sites. This policy explains what information Globe stores, what leaves your device, and why.
In short: Globe does not run analytics or advertising. It does not track you. It does not sell or share your data. The developer does not receive your settings, bookmarks or browsing history.
Information stored by your browser
Globe saves the following using Chrome's built-in extension storage. It is kept by your browser. If Chrome Sync is turned on, Google syncs it between your own devices. It is never sent to the developer.
- Your settings, such as theme, globe and background, quality level, and search engine choice.
- The name you enter during setup, which is used for the greeting.
- The websites you add to your globe.
- Any background image you upload from your computer. This is stored only on that device.
Optional permissions
Globe can show your bookmarks, recently visited sites, Chrome apps and extensions in its toolbar. It only does this if you turn the feature on and approve Chrome's permission prompt.
This information is read on your device to show the toolbar. Globe does not store it or send it to the developer. The extensions panel can also turn your other extensions on or off when you ask it to.
Information sent to third parties
Some features need to contact other services:
- Search. When you search, your search terms go to the search engine you chose: Google, Bing, Yahoo or Ecosia. While you type, Globe may request suggestions from Google. Each provider's own privacy policy applies.
- Site icons. To show an icon for a website on your globe or in the toolbar, Globe asks Google's favicon service for it. That request includes the site's address.
- Images. Globe loads theme textures and backgrounds from Flickr. These requests do not include personal information. As with any web request, the image host can see your IP address.
- Feedback and surveys. The in-app feedback and performance forms are Google Forms. If you uninstall Globe, Chrome may open a short uninstall survey, which is also a Google Form. These forms are optional. Anything you choose to type and submit goes to the developer through Google Forms.
What Globe does not do
- No analytics, tracking pixels or advertising.
- No sale, rental or sharing of your data with anyone.
- No use of your data for anything unrelated to Globe's homepage features.
- No use of your data to decide creditworthiness or for lending.
Deleting your data
You can reset Globe's settings from its options menu. Uninstalling Globe removes the information it has stored in your browser. To ask about feedback you have submitted, contact the developer as described below.
Changes to this policy
If Globe's handling of data changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
